Two Roads Blog Tour: Interview with Author L.M. Augustine. #giveaway

Title: Two Roads
Author: L.M. Augustine
Hosted By: Romance Addict Book Blog - http://www.romanceaddictbookblog.com/

Today we are so excited to get to interview author L.M. Augustine here on the blog as part of the Two Roads blog tour. Sit back and enjoy!!

First off, can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

Of course! I'm the author of Two Roads and Click To Subscribe. I love writing romances about nerdy characters.

Can you tell us something that not a lot of people know about you?

Um… let's see. Well, I'm really interested in politics and contemporary world issues (especially social issues), and I have LOTS of opinions, which is something many people don't realize because I tend to be really quiet about them online. :-)

Where did the idea for Two Roads come from?

I always knew I wanted to write something totally different from my debut, Click To Subscribe, which is about best friends falling in love. And so I thought: what is the opposite of that? The answer I came up with was sworn enemies falling in love. And thus, Two Roads was born.

How is Logan Waters similar and/or different compared to other heroes in romance books?

In three words: he's a geek. And no, I don't mean that he's a little geeky; I mean he is a full-on geek. He has thick-rimmed glasses, he is obsessed with math and poetry, and he tends to keep to himself. He hates sports. He loves books. He is a complete and utter nerd, and, in my biased opinion, he is also totally awesome for it. It's my personal mission with writing romance to show that nerdy guys can be just as great and swoon-worthy as your typical alpha male.

Tell us a little about your writing process. Any pre-writing rituals or routines?

Yes! I always have to listen to music while I write. It doesn't matter what it is, but there's something about music that helps to take me away from the real world and focus on my characters.

When you create your characters do you ever put bits of either your personality or bits of personalities from people close to you?

Definitely! I pull pieces of personality from everywhere. Other books, movies, people I know in real life. I personally am not usually too much like my characters, but we almost always share the same sense of humor. I love unleashing my brand of weirdness onto the world through my characters. ;)

What are some good books you've read lately?

I absolutely loved Unteachable by Leah Raeder, Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver, and Before Now by Cheryl McIntyre.

If you could collaborate with another author in writing a book, who would it be?

Well, I would love to one day work with John Green or Colleen Hoover… but that is totally not happening. (Though I can dream!) I also think Cheryl McIntyre would be super fun to work with.

About Two Roads:

The only person poetry-loving Cali Monroe hates more than herself is Logan Waters, the geeky kid who lives in the dorm building next to hers.

Ever since Cali's parents told her she would amount to nothing, she has felt entirely inadequate. Friendless and alone, she takes on the mean girl role in hopes it will make her feel better--and Logan serves as the perfect target. He infuriates her with his obnoxiously long lashes, his all too perfect dimpled smile, and his complete lack of personality outside of his intelligence. It doesn't hurt that he's part of the reason her brother is dead, either. So Cali hates him, and he returns the favor. Thus, their prank-filled, insult-driven rivalry is born, and torturing Logan quickly becomes the highlight of her life.

But when Cali's parents set them up on a blind date, she begins to realize Logan might not be as boring as she always thought. He shares her love of poetry, takes a sadistic pleasure in making fun of crepes, and he makes her blush when he calls her smile pretty.

And hey, maybe those long lashes of his aren't that obnoxious after all…

Two Roads is New Adult Romance about finding love, standing out, and learning to embrace who you are. It contains some language and mild sexual content.

Year End Round-up 2013: Favorite Books from Your Favorite Authors. Giveaway.

We asked some of our favorite authors what were some of their favorite reads of 2013. There are some on here that we loved, and more than a few to add to our to-be-read lists!! Enjoy...

Hm.. My favorite read this year was Drowning by Rachel Firasek. It's an epic book and her writing style gels so well with my reading style! Plus I loved Teresa Mummert's Damaged Series!

 ~ Debra Anastasia

My favorite book that I read in 2013 was Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver.

Ummmm. Probably The 5th Wave and Out of Line were my two favorites of the year. The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey  just had such amazing storytelling that I adored it. And Out of Line by Jen McLaughlin was hella sexy. ;)

~Nazarea Andrews

One of my Fave reads of 2013 is Unteachable by Leah Raeder :)

~Lauren Blakely

I'd have to go with Theft by BK Loren.

 ~Catherine Ryan Hyde

It's hard to pick just one, but I'd have to say Beneath The Scars by Ottilie Weber really touched my heart. (click on the link for a chance to win a copy on Goodreads ~Wendy)
Ottilie writes in such a welcoming, down to earth style. Her characters tug at the heartstrings. She knows how to create a slow burn of a romance between two people that readers can't help falling in love with. She blends tragedy with redemption in such a seamless and powerful way. This is a book that resonates. It serves as a moving tribute to the many injured and returning vets from Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as a symbol of hope to the ones who love them.
                                                        ~Faith Sullivan

Making Faces by Amy Harmon.

~R.L. Griffin

I would say The Opportunist by Tarryn Fisher. I loved how real and gritty it was. It totally consumed me. A real roller coaster ride of emotions! :)

                                                ~ Karli Perrin

Such a good question! I haven't had the opportunity to read very much this year, but one that sticks with me is Playing the Part by Robin Covington. ️

                                            ~Gina Maxwell

I loved the Consequences Series by Aleatha Romig!

                                                       ~RS Grey

Keep Me Still by Caisey Quinn
The Best Laid Plans by Tamara Mataya
Beautiful Oblivion by Addison Moore
Unteachable by Leah Raeder
Quintessentially Q by Pepper Winters

                                                                                      ~Layla Hagen

Thanks for inviting me to contribute.  My top 5 for the year in no particular order are:

1. The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey
2. Days of Blood and Starlight by Laini Taylor
3. The Thrill of It by Lauren Blakely
4. God Save The Sweet Potato Queens by Jill Connor Browne
5. One Week Girlfriend by Monica Murphy

                                                                         ~Jessie Evans

I know it's going to make me sound like a goober, but I only just read The Hunger Games and it was some kind of awesome!  That would probably top the year for me right now:)
