Snippet from Trophy Husband by Lauren Blakely

I really shouldn't pretend I'm not watching him. But it's impossible not to. I didn't look away during that scene in Casino Royale either when Daniel Craig emerged from the water. He wears board shorts low on his hips, and a pair of flip flops. I watch as he walks through the sand, closer, closer and there, now I can say without a shadow of a doubt that I would like to lick all those water droplets off his chest and ABS and then run a hand down his body to sear into my memory the feel of that kind of firm outline. Soon, he's mere feet from me, scratched up surfboard by his side, in all his glistening, ocean-ed up glory. Neither one of us says anything for a few seconds, and it's the kind of silence that's filled with unsaid things.

Interview and Giveaway with New York Times and USA Today Best Selling Author Michelle Leighton

First of all, I want to thank the awsomeness known as Michelle Leighton for taking the time to chat with us. You have been beyond amazing and so down to earth, I can't thank you enough. <3

As you know, Fragile is my favorite book ever. How did you come up with the story line and the character of Miracle?
ML: Believe it or not, I saw Miracle sitting on that bench in the park, sad sweet smile and all. Right inside my head. Out of the blue. It was as real as if I'd actually seen her. I knew I needed to know her story, although I was pretty sure what is was considering her appearance. And just like that, she was born. :)

What's a typical work day like for you? Do you work from home? Do you use music as an inspiration?
ML: I do write from home, and I do use music for inspiration, but never WHILE I write. It's always before or after. As for a typical day, I always try to write in the mornings. It's when I'm most focused and the world seems quiet around me. It doesn't always work out perfectly, but I try.

What are the perks of being an author?
ML: Having an outlet for all the wonderful things in my head. lol

Are you fun to go on vacation with?
ML: I like to think so..bahahaha

And finally, my favorite question! Have you ever written while you were naked?
ML: Sadly, yes. lmao. On more than one occasion, I've had a burst of inspiration that demands I write something down AT THAT MOMENT! So I do. Clothing is optional. Inspiration is not. :)

Because Michelle is all kinds of awsome, she has an ebook of Fragile and The Wild Ones each to give away. Oddly enough, my blog and Rafflecopter seem to have an aversion to each other, but you can enter to win on my Facebook page here. Also, be sure to keep your eyes peeled for Michelle's latest book Until I Break, coming May 14th!

Thanks again, Michelle, for being a rockstar of an author and giving us al those hotties to dream about. You are definitely doing the women of the world a service! <3

Trophy Husband excerpt from Lauren Blakely

Here's an excerpt from Trophy Husband by Lauren Blakely

I close my eyes, and picture a kiss that starts sweet and soft and slow. Then, his hands cup my face as if he's claiming me, saying you're mine with his lips and his hands and the way he draws in close, his hands tracing a line along my jaw. It's such a small gesture, but such a poetically possesive one and I arch my back, inviting more. In one swift move, he pulls my chair to him, sliding me between the V of his legs. His fingers thread their way into my hair, and I lean into his hands, reveling in the way they feel against the back of my head, as if he's holding me in the exact way he wants me, in the exact way I want to be held.--

Faster We Burn by Chelsea Cameron

Description

Katie Hallman is done with douchebags. Done with guys that treat her like crap and leave her broken. But then Stryker Grant is there anyway. With his numerous piercings and bleached hair, he's the polar opposite of all her past relationships, which makes him the perfect candidate.
At first Katie just sees him as a physical escape from her previous rocky relationship, and Stryker doesn't seem to mind just being a distraction from Katie's problems. But soon he's getting under her skin, peeling back layers she'd rather keep covered. She tries to make it clear that she doesn't want a relationship, but keeps breaking her own rules.
Then a tragedy sends Katie into the only arms who are there to catch her, and she'll realize that she needs him more than she ever thought possible. But is she ready to let herself trust another guy with her already battered heart? Or will she push him away to protect herself from getting hurt again?

My thoughts:

One of my favorite books is My Favorite Mistake by Chelsea Cameron and as book boyfriends go, Hunter Zaccadelli rates in my top ten. I sometimes worry when a new book comes out by an author who has already written one of my favorites. Will I hold it to a higher standard only to be let down? When I get attached to a character, I get REALLY attached and find it hard to move on to another one. FEAR NOT! Faster We Burn not only exceeds expectation, it freakin' rocks! Stryker Grant is simply dreamy (Yup, I just used the word dreamy!) with his multiple piercings and talent for music and drawing. And Katie? Well, she's all kinds of cute with her belief that she can actually keep things just physical and her obsession with pink. I absolutely love the story coming from the dual POV's because honestly, how many times are we going to know what a guy is thinking? From pizza and pancakes to second Thanksgivings, Stryker and Katie take you on a roller coaster of emotions. Reading Faster We Burn I laughed, I loved, I seriously cried and there were times I wanted to kill a few of the characters myself. This is such a sweet, hot read that you won't want to put it down! Stryker Grant will be a serious contender for your top ten book boyfriend list! I mean seriously, where else are you going to find a hottie sweet enough to paint your nails for you?

My favorite line:

"You'll take my dick inside you and my tounge down your throat, but some of my spit on your hand grosses you out?"

And just because I had too much time on my hands, here's my Faster We Burn doodles!

Jenn's review of Walking Disaster

Walking Disaster by Jamie McGuire

5 beautiful stars for Walking Disaster

I loved and adored Beautiful Disaster and Travis Maddox from the moment I started reading and when I found out there was going to be a Travis POV I was beside myself excited. This book did not disappoint either; it is the perfect companion to Beautiful Disaster. I would definetly recommend that Walking Disaster only be read after reading Beautiful Disaster, otherwise I don't think you get the full all-consuming experience that is Travis Maddox.
Going inside the mind of Travis was intriguing, hilarious, and heartbreaking all at the same time. The prologue, as much as it made me cry, really provides a great set up for understanding his character. He has such a beautiful heart, although it is a guarded one.
I loved watching him sort through all that is Abby! He clearly has deep feelings for her right away and watching him trying to figure it out was great! He was so sure Abby was his pigeon, but he also struggles with that very idea; that this one girl has so completely consumed his heart and how desperately he wants her acceptance. I had no doubts he loved Abby before, but taking that journey with him showed how deep and true that love really was.
He's definetly not perfect, but that's what makes him so special. He has an edge and one hell of a temper, which in my opinion make him that much sexier, but his humor and his heart had me tumbling over the "I'm so in love with you" cliff.
Reliving some of the more difficult scenes between Travis and Abby through his eyes just about broke me. There were moments where my heart hurt and I cried to the point where I couldn't breathe, but I really loved every word.
There were a lot of new scenes in the book, so it's not just the same moments replayed from Beautiful Disaster. You get to know Shep and Travis' family more, and I may have developed a huge love for Trent! I appreciated how no matter what was going on he was always there when needed and had his brother's back. Travis and Trent together were so fantastic, and yes, there was some happy dancing when I realized Trent is getting his own book. I think seeing Travis with his family and the support and love they all have for each other was a favorite for me in Walking Disaster.
Walking Disaster and Travis Maddox captured my heart so completely. I really felt like I was a part of this story, not just a reader. I laughed and cried and got frustrated, but I'm not sure if I can say that I've ever felt like a story was so complete as I did when I finished Walking Disaster. It felt like all the pieces of a beautiful puzzle were finally in place. And the epilouge, well, it's PURE MAGIC; it gives a look into the future and is the perfect end. I was sad when I finished, not because OF the end, but because it WAS the end. Jamie McGuire does not just write characters and a plot, she writes friends and takes you on a journey with them.

A Way To "Pay It Forward"

Believe in happily ever after? Even though we don't see it enough, I certainly do! Here's a way you can "pay it forward" and help Ucif give his bride to be a beautiful wedding. There always seems to be an abundance of depressing "real life" news that makes you question the worlds ability to show each other love and compassion. Well, leave it up to the amazing Catherine Ryan Hyde (author extraordinaire of Pay It Forward and many other books) to show how simple it is to "pay it forward". The world needs more beauty and love and here's https://fundrazr.com/campaigns/7TCT4 a way to contribute to that need.
