Cover Reveal for Hard As It Gets: Hard Ink by Laura Kaye

The cover's here! The amazing Laura Kaye is giving us another book. Hard As It Gets: Hard Ink will be here November 26, so be sure to pre order it today!

Blurb:

Tall, dark, and lethal...

Trouble just walked into Nicholas Rixey's tattoo parlor. Becca Merritt is warm, sexy, wholesome-pure catnip to a very jaded Nick. He's left his military life behind to become co-owner of Hard Ink Tattoo, but Becca is his ex-commander's daughter. Loyalty won't let him turn her away. Lust has plenty to do with it too.

With her brother presumed kidnapped, Becca needs Nick. She just wasn't expecting to want him so much. As their investigation turns into all-out war with an organized crime ring, only Nick can protect her. And only Becca can heal the scars no one else sees.

Desire is the easy part. Love is as hard as it gets. Good thing Nick is always up for a challenge...

Crushed Seraphim by Debra Anastasia

Description

How does a foul-mouthed angel end up as the last hope for all of Heaven and Earth?

When Seraph Emma is maimed and tossed from Heaven by a rouge angel who's taken charge, she fears she'll never be allowed to return. Tasked with the impossible job of showing the self-loathing (and not even human!) Jason his worth, Emma is sure she's doomed to fail.

Meanwhile, having wormed his way into Heaven, the corrupt Everett has trapped God in Hell and has designs on unleashing evil everywhere. Fortunately, if there's one thing Emma can't do (in addition to minding her language), it's give up. Determined to save Jason and get back into Heaven - even if it means going to Hell - Emma's plan is simple yet impossible: trick the Devil to save God.

What she doesn't count on is the devotion and, well, humanity she finds in Jason; the spirit, hidden compassion, and raw sex appeal within the Devil; and the vulnerability of her own heart. With the help of two unlikely allies, she'll wage the battle for Heaven. But will Emma be sidetracked by a new sort of heaven along the way?

What's truely more dangerous?

Falling from Heaven, or falling in love?

My thoughts

I absolutely and completely love this book! An angel that cusses and flips the bird, calls shoes "pimp", tells a vampire half-breed to shove flower petals up his ass, and tells a rouge angel that he's the Devils bitch. Have I said how much I love this book? I'm not sure who I'm rooting for more, the half-breed vampire or the Devil, I want them both!

Definetly a 5 star read and I'm now onto Bittersweet Seraphim.

My review of Scorpio Awakens by Lilith Darville

Description

Katherine King thinks she has everything, her loving and supportive husband, her challenging job and a secure life. When she overhears a conversation on the train, the sexual needs she has buried for years resurface. She yearns to surrender all control, to go to the brink again and again, until she finds ecstatic release. She wants to submit. She confesses her desires to Tim, and he agrees that exploring her sexuality and sharing what she learns will deepen their love for each other.
Her choice leads to a tsunami of pleasure and passion; but, when an old lover's enemies discover their secret, Katherines life is threatened and his empire could collapse. "Scorpio Awakens" is a deeply sensual story of enduring love and the lengths one woman is willing to go to keep it.

My Thoughts

I always love to read a book that has a strong, beautiful and complex leading lady. I love that Kat wants to explore her sexuality, and doesn't worry about bucking the norm to find what she's looking for, both emotionally and physically.
The sex between Kat and Connor is just that, sex. But when Kat and Tim hit the sheets...or floor..things get extremely hot! The complex relationship between the three of them adds an interesting twist to the story. Throw in a jealous wife and business rivals and you get a steamy romance with a bit suspense.
I admit that I had a hard time getting into the first couple chapters but once Tim got thrown into the mix, the complexity of the story held me through until the end. I'm really looking forward to the next book in the series! I definitely recommend "Scorpio Awakens" for anyone wanting hot and steamy with a lot of romance.

Books I'm Reading Now

If I don't have a lot of distractions or things to do when I'm reading a book, I can usually get through it in a day or two. Definitly NOT happening this week! From a busted pipe in the foundation to my sweet little Lucy (my dog) getting poisoned, my mind has been everywhere but on the storyline of a book.
I started a book last week that I was really liking right away, but I was so distracted that I made myself put it away for the time being. No use wasting time reading a book that I'm not connecting with. When I can get wrapped up in not only the story, but also feel like I personally know the characters, I love it! SO, wanting to be completely fair, today I started reading Lilith Darville's Scorpio Awakens from the beginning. Again.
Here's to no distractions! No more flooded kitchen, no sick puppy, nothing! Just my normal boring life!

Check back for my ramblings and thoughts on Scorpio Awakens!

Welcome to My Little Corner of the Web

I have spent more time than I'm willing to admit trying to come up with something witty and life altering for my first post, but sadly the gods of inspiration have left me hanging. I'm pretty sure I pissed them off in a past life or something. So, left to my own entirely boring musings, I've decided to use this post as a "hello" from me to you.

Over the last few days I have read so many how-to's, what-not-to-do's, and dear-God-don't-ever-do's about book reviewing and blogging that I swear my eyeballs are about to explode! I'm still not completely sure that I'll ever get it all down, so I'm just going to be me...sink or swim!

When I read, I become attached and fully invested in the characters and the story line. I don't see why reviews shouldn't be the same, so if you're looking for a sterile and emotionless review, you're on the wrong blog! Be forewarned though, when I love...like REALLY love a book or an author, I can get annoyingly vocal about it. I'm sure my friends and family wish I had an "Off" button they could punch! Yup, punch! But I do promise to be open and honest, and above all respectful about my likes and dislikes.

Thank you for taking the time to check out my little blog and feel free to spread the word. I apologize in advance for any english gaffes and blatent typos. Trying to learn the design and technical aspects of all this is going to drive me to the nearest mental ward, so thank you in advance for all of your kindness and patience. This is definitely a work in progress. I look forward to getting to know all of you fabulous people!
