Blog Tour: Far Too Tempting by Lauren Blakely Review and Giveaway

FAR TOO TEMPTING

Jane Black has written the break-up album of the century, earning her a Grammy, a huge legion of new fans, and the pressure to repeat her success. Sure, the heartbreak from her husband’s unconventional abandonment might have been her inspiration, but it hasn’t done her any favors in the dating department. So when Matthew Harrigan, the toughest music journalist out there, asks for an interview, Jane agrees—as long as her personal life is completely off-limits.

British, gorgeous, and way too tempting, Matthew’s the first guy Jane’s been attracted to since her husband. As she spends more time with him and their relationship heats up, though, so does her writer’s block. How can the queen of the break-up pen the perfect follow-up when she’s seriously in love?

My Thoughts:

What can I say about Lauren's books that I haven't already? Here's something...hot British man!

Mathew is not only hot and British, he has just enough geek in him to make him all the more endearing. A guy that names his dog The Doctor (for all the Dr. Who fans out there), knows his way around the kitchen, and isn't afraid to admit he has fallen in love with you...well, what's not to love about any of that? I want my very own version of Mathew!

"Screw falling. I'm there. I've fallen in love with you, Jane."

Jane has made it to the top in her music career. After winning a Grammy for her breakup album, she has to find the person she is now, not the dumped, slighted woman she was when she wrote it. Does she really need to be heartbroken in order to write a bestseller? Would it be better to fall back on heartbreak in order to get the album out on time, or to keep Mathew in her life and find her way out of her writers block and into the person she needs to be?  One line that just cemented her place in my heart was:

"I'd rather be mediocre again than be without love."

Far Too Tempting isn't predictable. While yes, it's one of Laurens fun, hot reads, she kept me on my toes. The one spot I just knew was going to turn out to be the angst of Jane and Mathew's story wasn't it at all; I was thrown for a loop, and it totally worked. I can definitely see myself reading it again and again.
