THE THRILL OF IT Synopsis:

A new adult story of Love. Sex. Addiction. Blackmail. And Power...

Some say love can be an addiction. Others say it's the thing that makes life worth living. Let me tell you everything I know about love...Love isn't patient, love isn't kind. Love is a game, a chase. A thrill. Love is wild and war-like, and every man and woman must fight for themselves. At least that's how it was for me. A high-priced virgin call girl by the time I started college, I was addicted to love and to sex. Even though I've never had either. I controlled love, played it, and held the world in the palm of my hands. Then I fell down from those highs, and I'm being blackmailed for all my mistakes, forced to keep secrets from everyone, except the only guy I don't regret.

Trey...

With all the other women, I knew what they were. They were temporary. They were pills, they were bottles, they took away all the pain, and numbed the awful memories that wore down my ragged, wasted heart. Until I met Harley. She's the only girl I ever missed when she walked away. But now she's back in my life, every day, and there are no guarantees for us, especially since I don't know how to tell her my secrets. What happened to my family. All I know is she's the closest I've ever come to something real, and I want to feel every second of it.

How can you love with no regrets when regret is all you know?

My thoughts:

4.5 Stars
This is probably the fourth time I have written this review, each time throwing everything out and rewriting it from scratch, because I couldn't find a way to get all the jumbled emotions out of my head and onto paper (actually on screen, but you get my drift!). And how could I write about something this complicated without spoilers? VERY carefully, short, and to the point!! My heart felt one way while my brain felt another. There was a character I knew I shouldn't like, but did. Another character I kept wanting to give the benefit of the doubt, but each time she could redeem herself, instead she dug herself deeper into my dislike. This is not a light hearted, puppy dogs and rainbows kind of love story. It's complicated, gritty, and extremely intriguing (I was dying to find out how a virgin could be a sex addict!), but most of all it's about two people surviving what life, and their parents, threw them, learning to become better people despite of it, and not letting their parents actions dictate how they will go through life. It's deeply written, with full characters and an active plot, and while I'm normally not a fan of cliffhangers, this one really worked for me. While I'm anxiously looking forward to following Harley and Trey's story, for some reason it didn't leave me with that WTH that most cliffhangers do. The Thrill of It is a definite must read!!
A few of my favorite quotes:

"Scars are sexy, they say you've lived, and that you've survived."

"...it's the pain of the arrow coming out, not the arrow going in."

"It's weird that one person can know your before and your wish for after."

"But that one night with Harley was the closest I've ever felt to right."

"Love can be the ugly beautiful."

"You are stupid brave. And Stupid Courageous. And stupid amazing. And I won't let you go through any more of this alone."

Now, check out our interview with Trey!!

First of all, thank you, Trey, for taking time to chat with us!! it's an honor...

Pleasure is all mine. By the way, Wendy’s Diner is awesome. (This makes me all kinds of happy and smiley!!)

First thought when Harley walked into No Regrets to get her tattoo??
Honestly? I thought she was hot. I'm a guy. Of course that's what I thought. But then when we started talking what struck me was how she was some kind of combination of innocent but worldly at the same time, and I wanted to know her.

What was your first reaction when Harley told you about her past??

I was shocked to see her in the sex and love addicts meeting, but I also knew if she as there that she had a past. My first reaction though when she told me details was I wanted to punch all those guys, but then the person I was most pissed at was Harley's mom.

What are your feeling about Barb after she and Harley talked?? What about Cam once you met him??

Oh, Wendy. That’s a tough question. My feelings about Barb are pretty much she’s the worst person in the world. As for Cam, you’re killing me with that question because I want to hate him. But I think, unlike Harley’s mom, he actually cares for her in a real way.

One thing about Harley that you never want to change??

Her strength.

One thing in your past you would change if you could??

I would change three things, and I think you know what they are.

Strangest tattoo you have ever done??

I inked a guy's bald head with a spider web.

What song best describes you??
The opening words: " Don't let us get stupid, all right?? Just make us be brave. And make us play nice, and let us be together tonight" remind me of Harley, and what she said to me on the stoop of an apartment building near my parents' house when I finally told her what happened to my family.

Sex on your futon or your tattoo chair??
How can you make me choose? Both are, were, and always will be fucking epic.

What milestones are you looking forward to in your relationship with Harley??

All of them.

5 quick questions:

Your favorite tattoo??
On me?? The birds on my chest.
Favorite body part of Harley's??
Her eyes, because that's how we connect.
Favorite drink??
Coors. But coffee's good too.
Favorite food??
Pizza, fries, and sandwiches are good anytime. My favorite foods are pineapples and spicy Thai food. We're talking so spicy it sets your mouth on fire.

Car, truck, or motorcycle??
I don't know because I don't know how to drive.
